1. Who we are

SC Americas is a software consultancy with delivery hubs across North, Central, and South America. References to “we,” “us,” or “our” throughout this policy mean SC Americas and the affiliated entities through which we deliver client work in each market.

2. Information we collect

We collect personal information you provide directly to us through forms on this site, including:

• Your name, work email address, company, and job title
• Your phone number (optional)
• The country you are based in
• The content of any message you write to us
• Any other details you choose to share with us

We also collect a small amount of technical information that is necessary for the site to work: your preferred language (stored in a `NEXT_LOCALE` cookie when you use the language switcher) and basic request information that our hosting provider receives from your browser, such as your IP address and user agent. We do not currently use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you give us to:

• Respond to your inquiry and follow up on your request
• Schedule conversations, meetings, and project assessments
• Send you information about SC Americas services you have asked about
• Improve the quality of our services and this website

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use it for advertising profiling or share it with marketers or data brokers.

4. Legal basis for processing

Where local law requires a stated basis (for example, the EU GDPR or comparable Latin American data-protection regimes), we rely on:

• Your consent, given when you submit the contact form
• Our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries about our services
• Our need to comply with applicable legal obligations

You can withdraw consent at any time by writing to the address below; this will not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

5. How long we keep your information

We retain personal information from contact form submissions for up to 24 months after our last interaction with you, unless:

• You become a client, in which case we keep the information for the duration of the engagement plus the period required by applicable law
• You ask us to delete it sooner (see Section 8)
• A longer period is required for tax, audit, or other legal reasons

After the retention period we delete or anonymize the information.

6. Sharing your information

We may share your information with:

• SC Americas employees and contractors who need it to do their job, under confidentiality obligations
• Service providers that help us operate, under contracts that protect your data — currently including Resend (transactional email delivery) and Cloudflare (bot protection on our contact form via Cloudflare Turnstile, which sees a short-lived verification token and your IP address but does not receive the contents of your message)
• Authorities, when we are required by law to disclose information

We do not share your information with marketers or data brokers.

7. Where we store and process your information

SC Americas operates across the Americas, and our service providers may store or process information in countries other than your own — including the United States and other Latin American jurisdictions. Where data crosses borders, we take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected to a comparable standard, including by relying on standard contractual clauses or equivalent transfer mechanisms where required.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate
• Ask us to delete your information
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent you previously gave

To exercise any of these rights, write to privacy@sc-americas.net. We aim to respond within 30 days. If you believe we have not handled your request appropriately, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and regular reviews of who can reach what. No system is perfectly secure; please share only what you need to share to start a useful conversation.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

This site uses one functional cookie, `NEXT_LOCALE`, set when you use the language switcher so you land in the same language on your next visit. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies on this site. If we add anything that changes this, we will update this policy and disclose it before turning it on.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes (for example, new categories of recipients or significantly extended retention) will be highlighted at the top of the page for a reasonable period.
